Journal to Bahariya

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

My second phase of winter holiday was having an adventure trip to Bahariya Oasis or seaside oasis -> got from wiki.  Bahariya Oasis is one of depression area in Egypt.

  12th Feb 2014

I traveled from my place at 3 am and met others in Cairo. We started our journey around 7 am and had a short stop before we arrived the Bahariya Oasis.

Around half an hour before we arrived, I just knew what was all about Bahariya Oasis. -_-

I reached a village in Bahariya at noon after 6 hrs journey and checked into my room .
This is our chalet look like. The most highest building in El-Bawity valley. Quite modern with awesome interior design building.  The owner is an american.
And we had a fight scene before we got key to our room. -_-'

We rest and ate the lunch. It was ishq or bread. We were joyed for the evening session as we heard that there would be exciting activities awaited. We went there by 4x4 jeeps. This was my very first time riding in a jeep. :')

Seems like everyone excited looking for it too. XD  With k.Syikin, k. Naza, Istiq, Mariam and Fiqah..

Sob. Sob. It was a wonderful feeling when i saw friendly kids waved their hand to us on our passage through their valley. I waved back with happy feeling. I felt like a true traveler. :')

Our first place was salt lake.

It was behind me.:)
This salt lake will become evaporate and leave salt on the sand during summer. This place is so chill at night.

There were everywhere; white spot of salt! A view picture of shining crystal water salt lake.
hurmm, another picture with the jeep. What was so good about it?! -_-

Then we went to hike a mountain. I just realized which level of stamina i had..:P  I thought of angles to have a better hiking expedition and balancing myself. .

Before hiking the El-Magrafa  or spoon mountain.
With our tour guide sitting in front of the layer.  (Y)

He said that millions years ago, they were dinasours died in between of this mountain and another opposite  mountain. The layer of mountain behind us was actually the layer of soil under the sea. Peoples used the natural color of this rock powder for some coloring items.

We also visited camel stable. The camels were used for shipping a long time ago. There were two type of camels in the Egypt: Red and Black.  This camels can store water in their hump for a week without drinking. Superb!

Look how they posed when they saw the camera. -_-'
I impressed by this donkey's cleanliness. Was it always taking a bath?

Trying to look cool with a friend's sunglasses.:P

Me and Sarah selfie.:P
This is Manches (is it the correct spelling?) which was not far from the camel stable.

The water was so warm. It came from 500m underground. Some of bedouin came here to take this water and also swam in the 'pool'.  I saw many way of swim pattern. They like to make show. -_-.

The last place to visit on the day was English mountain. Again, i hiked to reach the top. I should hurry as i wanted to see the sunset as the view was breathtaking and gorgeous!

This was English mountain view from the top.
Sunset. Beautiful~

We went back to our chalet and ate dinner. Later, we have self-introduce session before we went to sleep.

lol. Everyone look meh.. We were tired, lazy and sleepy~

13th Feb 2014

After we packed our things for the camp and had a breakfast, we journeyed to white dessert by jeep. On the way to get there, we had stop to some pretty and fun places. We enjoyed playing sandboard at the sand dune..:)

This is how the sandboard looks like. Fortunately, i am taller than it.

Before we sandboarding, we greased the surface that will be on the sand by soap to minimize the friction. It help us to have a smooth, fast and cool ride~

On top of sand dune. Will be sandboarding soon..XD

And this was how i sandboarding. After i started to move down, i

Ok, this was so Meh. -_-'

This is a picture of us sunbathing on the sand when someone tried to take picture of us. -_-.

Actually the places was so so windy. The wind blew the fine sand on my face and extra crispy free  thing i tasted. Thanks. Before i left the sand dune, i make short dramas and also a commercial film to a company of juice can. However, the video was too sick!

Then we continued our expedition and visited black dessert.
Behind me is the blackest desert ever.

With Sarah, Mariam and Fiqah.

This black desert was once a volcano which erupted millions years ago. It look like papillary, oppss, finger-like rock pattern at the top. Human during stone age used the stone around this area to make the fire. I tried  to put a fire one but failed!

We had a lunch at cold spring before we continued our journey entering the white dessert national park area. In the white dessert area, we went to see crystal mountain. The crystal mountain is under reserved. There were many colors of natural crystal found here. From bright to dark.
This is how crystal mountain look like.
Black crystal at the side.
This is the view from top of crystal mountain.

After that, we landed on moon surface area of earth. Quite surprise, right? Actually, we went to a place whereby the land surface area look like a moon surface from above.

Lunar landsurface in egypt.

This is image extract from google maps. :P Hurmmm, does it look same?

Hurm, okay, kinda believe it but not too much resemble. This kind of place really exist on earth.. :)

Then, we traveled to White Dessert Safari where we camped. Once we got there, we were fascinated by the whiteness of the chalk lime stone on the land. There were also different style of rock formed.  They were everywhere! XD

Many unique shape of rocks were formed. They played with our own imagination to see them as anything we wanted. Might be one of the reasons why the place was called a safari.. zoo?
This is one of it.

All of the rocks were formed by erosion. The wind blown extremely hard during peak winter. They came from different direction, hit the rock and gradually carved different exquisite shape. There was also metal nailed for the geologist to study the rate of erosion by years.

This is the famous mushroom and chicken rock shined by the sun. :D

A silhouette image of chicken and mushroom rock. How can a chicken be smaller than a mushroom? heh. there was also newly formed saranghae rock at the side. -_-'

and other crazy pose we made while watching the sunset...  o_O

The tents were put up. We had dinner and having music night.

My jeep driver playing flute-like instrument. Well done! They did have talent. Even they cooked for our dinner. XD

My hand can't stop clapping when the music was playing. I did support them but my friends looked meh. lol. They might be tired. I lied on the sand later and gazed for the wide beautiful sky guessing the zodiac. The moon was full and make the scenery appeared like i was living in another planet when i looked at my surrounding. The light of the moon bathed the shining white landscape into a mystical light. SubhanaAllah~  Do human in the stone age felt like this too?

14th February 2014

I woke up very early in the morning, prepared and had a breakfast. The tents were put down.

This is our tent looked like. This picture was taken at dawn.
This camping experience was a memorable event. We made bonfire, barbecue, practice on 'tayamum',  had music night and got to know other tourists who visit our campsite. Furthermore, the toilet was none! Believe it or not?! you should be extra creative on how u should do your  project. :P i wont mention here. haha..

Before we left the place, we snap some other photos at the mushroom and chicken rock again.

With Azahani, Amira, Istiq, k.Syikin, k.Aisyah, k.Najwa, k.Ju,  Khadijah, Mariam, Sarah, and Fiqah.

Jeep-mate: k.Tiha, Khadijah, Fiqah, Mariam, Azahani, and Sarah

This my last day in Bahariya, my feeling was mixed but i should enjoy till the end. :D On the way we journeyed back to our chalet, we stopped at another 2 interesting places.

Our first place was a site whereby Prophet Yunus AS was vomitted out of a whale.

There were many various shape of stone on the sand. From the shape of flower to the shape of ball, twisties snack and branches-like stone. The stones kept a valuable secret and everyone got amaze. Guess what? The core of the stone is silver! Everyone's eyes looked $.$ automatically. lol. XD

Everybody was busy-ing collected the stones while my glove was already full of them. XD

We can see silver core when we broke the stone. Attempt to amaze my friend at home. :P
pic credit to along.

Next place was Zigzag Mountain. I kept wondering why it is called zigzag. I thought it was because of zigzag-look route on the mountain. According to our tour guide, peoples can hike it from any direction to reach the top, not only on that zigzag route, that why it was called zigzag mountain. Hurm, a lil confused -_- '. There were also mineral iron seen.

This is the zigzag mountain look like.
We stopped at a bedouin shop for a while before reaching the chalet. A friend of mine bought two mat for 200le.  :)  Once we got into our room, we packed in our belongings, prepared to leave and ate the lunch.

Again, we ate ishq or bread for our lunch. I got a good news from my brother at that time so i missed a pose.:(

and now i posed.;) The wind was chill.

We travelled back at 3pm and reached Cairo around 9. At last, i arrived at my place around 1 am. It kinda sad actually. How time flied so fast. I gonna miss this trip where i had new experiences, gained knowledges and got to know new friends.  'Sekepala rupanya semua orang.' :D

Lastly,  this is one of my crazy drama on a desert. urghh, please dont be nauseated by this.

-XOXO-

P/S: For whoever interest to go camping in Bahariya make sure you bring all the things you need and extra stuff such as extra winter coat(in winter), torchlight/emergency light, a lot of wet tissue, bottles of water, power bank and of course snacks, so that you can eat lots. XD. Believe me. It'll be a wonderful experience. A night in the white dessert is so super duper beautiful, breathtaking, calm, feeling extremely like in a wonderland. Go and feel it! SubhanaaAllah~
