Upper Egypt, Luxor & Aswan trip (3) - Final

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

This post is a part of a series of my vacation diary to Luxor and Aswan during last January.  .....φ(・∀・*I am documenting my beautiful memory along the vacation while my memory is still fresh-but-not-too-fresh..:P (part 3)

31st January 2013

It was 2.15 am. We woke up, packed things in and prepared ourselves. Then, hotel check out! Our eyes were very heavy as we were sleepy. We met others at the hotel’s lobby. But we still need to wait for all.. Everyone face was weary. We  got into bus around 3.10am. However we missed 2 friends who still not get into the bus yet.. haha.. after around 15min waiting, we saw them with hat on their head. XD lol..

Our bus moved to the bus meeting area. The trip was a convoy and lead by polices. Many buses were seen there and we were the last.. hurmmm.. (-_-) We slept all the time but of course woke up on and off.. lol.

Pretty sunrise..

We reached Abu Simble temple after around 4-5 hr journey. It was around 9am. Sunny and windy. I saw a little puppy standing alone on the road. Awww.. it was so cute~ i took a picture of it even from far.

There were not many people living here. Only some who run souvenirs stall, tickets, and taking care of this place. So our visit was a blast for them as one of their chances to earn money..;D We walked into the entrance, grab the ticket, and started our exploration.

A group of dogs. They were  like ancient dogs. -,-
One of the head gone?! :D

Actually this was not the the real site of the temple as the original site had been submersed under water due to construction of Aswan high dam. The temple disassembled and reconstructed again. I am not good in telling a history but one can check here for any detail.

Trying to act like Indana Jones before with that red hat. But, Failed!! Epic!-_-'

It was nearly 12 at noon. All visitors should finish their activities and traveled. However, we encountered one big problem----------> the bus was run off solar/gas..  according to Mr John (i don't know what his name, i just called him by the name of the bus...lol), the bus still had solar but not enough to get to our next place even to the nearest solar station.

Discussing with policemen. .

By the way, the policeman asked him to still drive. We got into the bus and started to move and stopped before we left the village..:( Mr John can't take the risk. Thinking of our safety, he asked us to arranged vans to get reach to Aswan. Yes logically thought, the police car moved far at front, if we stuck in middle of the hot desert, nobody there, who gonna helped us, or if as robbery case might happened, who gonna protect us?! >:-0 ..   (-''-) ..   huuurmmm.. Ok, Allah does. :) hehe.. but our plan for tomorrow's destination will be ruin !!! Oh my hot balloon adventure!

We stopped here with Sudanese people.  ^_<

So, we agreed with the suggestion, got the vans and bye bye-d Mr John. haha.. There were 4 vans. My friends and i got into one and started traveled. I was a bit comfortable as i could open the window. Love the rushing wind blown on my face.. lol. We reached Aswan and continue our journey back to Luxor by another bus. Fuhh.. What a test!

We reached Luxor around 6.30 pm and checked in into a hotel. We had other activity that night. It was 'sound of light' at Karnak Temple. Many people joined. Mostly Egyptian as language used that night was Arabian language. So, we, the smaller creature holding hand and weaving in and out between them. lol.

See ! So many people... with camera..:P

 Such a colourful night.

We were very exhausted as it was such a long journey since early in the morning. Aswan-Abou Simbel-Aswan-Luxor..  But i was excited as in the next morning i would have a joyful ride of hot air balloon. Hoyyeah!

1st February 2013

My friend and I who joined in hot air balloon adventure woke up early in the morning. All needed to gather up at 5 am in the lobby. We were very excited as this was the first time we got chance to ride on it. We ambled to the river bank and took a boat to get across it. We were served a cup of hot tea in the chill morning. It was so refreshing!. After that, we went to a wide field area where many balloons were placed. We were extra jolly when we saw them! Cant believe, i would ride it soon! Super cool!

"Woah!"   the first word came out from my mouth after we saw this big thing.XD.

Very hot! >_<

hahahaha... looked like balloon's google map in 3D!

Sunrise on 1st February.^_^

View from above.  We also bye-byed people from above. (^_^)/

So tiny this sugarcane field. Look like mosses.. B)

Love the ride! <3>

Then the shoes shot.. Isk3.   -_-'

See how they were squeezing the balloon to push out the gas inside.  0,0

And each of us got a certificate. :D

Back to our hotel by boat..;)

We were very hungry as we reached the hotel.o_0. We ate all the food left that we brought since the 1st day. We checked out from the hotel at 12pm and ate lunch. After the guys settled Jumuah prayer, we went to the last place which were Hatshepsut temple and monument around it. Oh yea, Mr John bus came back..lol :D We took pictures.

Le me with all friends of the trip.:)
Le me in green in front of  the temple

Le me with Yukinohanian..:D

Le me with friends. Captured by along. ^_^

Le me with all of friends at the monument in nearby area.;)

As for souvenirs, we were brought to a marble (i am not so sure about kind of stone type) shop nearby..

 A child demonstrated one. :P

Glow in the dark handmade carved stone. :D

It was about 8pm when we traveled back to Cairo and Mr John was too kind to send us to Mansoura. We reached Mansoura at around 10am in the next morning.  Exhausted! But imagining a big bus on Mansoura street was just lol.. Tetibe je.

A shocked new. About 2 weeks later after this wonderful trip, we heard a new of hot air balloon crashed at Luxor. By this headline:

Egypt: Hot Air Balloon Crashes Near Luxor, Killing 19 Tourists

OMG! :0   The page had even a video. I was so grateful as we were safely landed. The balloon was also not as i rode in last 2 week.  :') The memory of happily rode it was still fresh during that time. Thanks to the captain in charge.  However, I am sorry for what had happened to them. :(

Sweet day but Sour.

Assalamualaikum and hi..

I don't know how to write this post here as i am still in a shock state of what has happened yesterday. It was my birthday anniversary and also a death of a friend news!  :'(  I don't know how to express it and what to say. Maybe we were not a close friend, but  we had shared some precious event together even it was just 'touch and go' moment.

He was my ex-schoolmate. I didn't know him till we entered PASUM. My ex-schoolmates included him, we were very close during Ramadhan. It was in 2008. We always break fast together at many places. We played firecrackers a day before we went back home for Raya holiday and we also did some others crazy stuff. Thus, he was not someone only i knew, but he was one of a friend of mine at that time.

Maybe this sad new was a silent advise whisper from Our Creator for always being grateful in who we are and age we are now (a slap for me to come back to reality..). Me, still given other year to live but someone lost his. May he rest in peace under Allah's blessing, Muaz Roslan. Al-Fatihah.

Every summer has story- The road not taken

Since there was a huge political instability in Egypt, MOE Malaysia had encouraged Malaysian Egypt students to further study in their own country.  However it was not a compulsory. One needed to fill an online form and send other documents if interested.  I did even i hesitated at first.  :/  My parent asked me to do so. By the way, the outcome result was:

MSU (Management & Science University, Shah Alam)
vs
MU (Mansoura University, Egypt)

However I chose to come back to Egypt. I hope this is the best decision I made. I heard many friends will not pursue their study in MU anymore as they had been offered to their preferable local university & private university.. I am sad as there will be separation among us. Goodbye friends... :'(   But I believe, whatever we choose, there is no mistake. Love our self, trust our choice and everything is possible. ^_^

So dear me, other still MU and Malaysian Egypt students, keep fighting! Keep maintain the result and even up more. I am in the fifth year. Another 2 and half years to go. Everything will be just fine. InsyaAllah. ;D Yosh!

Every summer has story - Telematch Summary

Assalamualaikum and hi!

“Play more than you can afford to lose, and you will learn the game”

I had been given a task organizing a family telematch again last day 3rd of raya. ^_^  With helpers, my brother and 2 of my cousins, we successfully managed it. I didn’t ask much from my cousins. But both of them helped lots during the game. Btw, the games were great! XD

Compared to previous year in 2012 (which was also organized by me), we were dirty and wet like this picture. @_@

Running faster as below :3

  Played with many tools  :D

And having a familyteam-based tournament

However, this year’s  theme was simple, more relaxing and enjoyed the view since we had limit tools and time. ;) We also preserved everyone's colourful baju raya. ;D. We were playing games individually or team of 2 or 3. We had many games included----> collecting sweets, balloons blow till burst, ‘regu’ game, eating Raya cookies,  treasure hunt,  peel an apple, eat an apple, balloon burst, musical chairs plus another 2 open games which was throwing anything exactly on a line and also guessing green beans in a container. We also had gifts exchanged among each family. It had been planned before. Sadly, I didn’t have many picture. In addition, i got some from my cousins.

Together counting a 2/3-full container filled of thousands of green beans.

Collecting sweets. Got many likes by this game. That what children love!

Too many sweet. Awesome opportunity. Grab them more than they can afford! :D

In a blink of an eye, from many to several sweets left! O_0!

Iffa with her sweets! B)

Game of balloons blow n burst ^_^

This balloon seem didn't give cooperation. -_-..haha..
Someone was preparing for the burst! >:(... lol

'Regu' game. Guessing by action. :P

Me with red instrument like bicycle horn and Auni was preparing herself to start the game.

Iman with her wondering face 'what are they doing huh??'

Safiya was focusing.  :3

This game of moving beans (below) was canceled and cannot be judged due to cheating..  omg, seriously, too many cheat and trick done by these lil kid! Haha..

Games of peel and eat apple. ^_^

Me with the tape will then measure who got the longest apple's skin

Seem long.

Who ate fastest won. But still had 1st and 2nd runner up. Moral support was needed. :P

Ate 'kuih raya'. An awesome game idea to finish kuih raya in house!

They look pushy.... relax girls!
Omg, relax! relax! have a sip of drink 1st!
Looks just like eating rice... lol. Still steady finishing them.

We were also having a break! Grilled lamb!

Paksu's pose as a manager..

Tentalizing taste of the food. Even me didn't eat yet at this time. No break for me..:(

See! how they made me wanna eat both of them! 0_o.. I took a plate and keep it in house.
(as i was busy preparing for next games.)

Children like this age didnt eat. They ate sweets only.. lol.. so rugi~
There were kids who were still in search of things in treasure hunt game.

We then continued with musical chair game. :D

Everyone played cautiously.. lol. targeting on chair.

Who got the lucky chair: 3 guys for 2 chairs!

It's girls musical chairs time! ;D and i joined too. Everyone looked happy.

Guess who won? And yes! I won!
And the tradition balloon burst game!

Many action of kungfu, silat can be seen. haha.. :D

And everyone tried their best ever to won..:)

Abg khalis had been defeated by Paksu! lol 'menyesal pon xguna' -_-

The final 3 contestant in a smaller circle.

And for other game such as threw things on line, there were no picture taken as everyone took part. It was the closing game. really?!  Yes!

At nearly 7 pm, we finished all the games and quickly had the closing ceremony by giving prize to the winners. To all champions, 1st and 2nd runner up, congratulations! Although the prizes were just simple, all of us didn't matter as we shared the sweetness of fun and laughter together. That was the most valuable things ever!

The champion  of  musical chair :)

Champion for balloon burst :)

Then we packed in all things used and cleaned the place.
It was not easy to conduct and organize such events especially during 'raya'. Because, we all busy-ing  be'raya'. So, high commitment is a must to plan, prepare and manage it successfully. Eventhough i was very tired, i felt the satisfaction. It made me feel in bliss! And everyone seem enjoyed. :D :D :D
